Celebrating 100 Years of Sisterhood

We are pleased to announce the Rockettes 100th Anniversary, celebrating 100 years of sisterhood, precision and athleticism. Founded in St. Louis, MO in 1925 as the “Missouri Rockets,” the Rockettes are the longest-running precision dance company in America. From their early days performing at the Radio City Music Hall to becoming the stars of the annual Christmas Spectacular, the Radio City Rockettes have left a major mark on entertainment history and over 12 million people.

Over the past 100 years, the Rockettes have performed at some of the most iconic events in entertainment and American history, inspiring viewers every holiday season. Each year, they perform for over one million people at Radio City Music Hall and have toured more than 100 cities across North America for the Christmas Spectacular, reaching more than 12 million people over the course of 20 years. Their iconic Rockettes Precision Dance Technique™, blending elements of jazz, tap, and ballet, has made them world-renowned dancers and a symbol of women’s empowerment.

Rockettes serves as a reminder of female perseverance and excellence. The legacy has supported pinnacle American moments, such as being amongst the first to volunteer for the WWII with the USO to entertain troops both at home and abroad. They have also performed in two Presidential Inaugurations, the 1988 Superbowl, and the Macy’s Thanksgiving Day Parade since 1957, now becoming a staple of the show. This impact has transcended across media, from Saturday Night Live to The Tonight Show, to dancing alongside entertainment legends like Mariah Carey, Jimmy Fallon, The Backstreet Boys, and Jennifer Garner. In recent years, they have built a loyal fan base on social media, with over 5.5 million followers, sharing dance videos and viral trends.

“This Women’s History Month, as we celebrate the enduring legacy of the Rockettes, we commit to the continued evolution of the line and to another 100 years of inspiring generations of women to follow their dreams,” said Jessica Tuttle, Executive Vice President, Productions for Madison Square Garden Entertainment Corp., the parent company of the Radio City Rockettes.

Here’s to 100 years of Rockettes magic and to the next century of sisterhood.
